LA 18 KSCI TV
On air since 1977, LA 18 is the largest Asian language TV station in the Los Angeles and nationwide. The stations reaches all 6.2 million television homes in the Los Angeles TV market, which includes Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura and San Diego counties, through over-the-air, cable and satellite transmissions. Today, LA 18’s website is the largest Asian American video portal on the internet. LA 18 broadcasts a blend of locally produced and syndicated programs in five major Asian languages, most prominently Mandarin Chinese. LA 18’s longstanding commitment to serve the needs of Southern California’s burgeoning ethnically diverse community is inherent in its constant participation and support in the Asian American community. As an Asian media organization whose audience is primarily first generation immigrants, LA 18’s mission is to inform its audience about their community and the issues that affect them directly.
LA 18 is collaborating with CSC and AANCART on a media project that will assist Chinese American seniors navigate the U.S. health care system. This project is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation through the Benton Foundation, and is part of the New Routes to Community Health Program.
