Salud Radionovela - Cita-N-Solo (English)
Audio | 10:43 | Latinos, Mexican | Chicago, Il

This is the story of Sofia, a mother and an immigrant from Mexico, who takes care of everyone else except herself. Her particular concern is her son Juanito, who is a teenager in the soccer team figuring out what he wants to do with his life, his friends, and his crush. What he doesn't know is that his priorities may soon change as he learns that Sofia needs more medical care than anyone was a aware. Written by Marivel Vargas, Christian Vazquez, and Pablo Rodriguez.

Salud: Healing Through the Arts is grounded in the idea that art can foster meaningful dialog and cultivate strong connections among diverse groups of individuals. The project builds young community leaders by offering a space for personal expression while encouraging exploration of the connection between immigration and health issues. Through the performing arts, Salud improves immigrant health in the Mexican-American community and fosters better communication between immigrants and receiving community groups.
