A fabulous documentary aired on PBS that I wanted to let people know about. Maid in America, produced by Impacto films, follows four domestic workers in Los Angeles. The film really delves into their lives, shows the interdependent relationship between employer and employee, profiles a co-op owned by the women. What hits home is the price that women pay for caring for other people's children, leaving your children with someone else, and how caregiving is not just a job.

The women in the film put on a play in the backyard that depicts a real life event. It quickly turns humorous when one of the women puts on a cape and calls herself Super Domestica and sets in to save the day!
