I had the privilege to work with him
Dr. Takaki was an advisor for "Crossing East", the first Asian history series on public radio (of which I was managing editor). His writings, including "A Different Mirror: A History of Multicultural America" and "Strangers from a Different Shore: A History of Asian Americans" lit the way for all the stories about Asian Americans that have followed. May his clarity and courage give strength to all those who have stories to tell.
