In this next show, Mukhtar explores ways to bridge the communication gap between parents and teens. He talks to a Somali-American police officer, to a group ofrecent high school graduates, and to a parent Stay tuned for a frank comversation about attitudes, behaviors, fears and hopes.

Free, corresponding lesson materials for English language learners (ELLs) are available now. The Egal Shidad Program on Sexually Transmitted Diseases and the accompanying Discussion Resources are the result of the Project’s efforts this year. The goal of the Discussion Resources and ELL materials is to develop adult Somalis’ English language abilities through activities where learners listen, speak, read, and/or write in English about the health information covered in the Project's videos. While of the Egal Shidad materials were designed for use with Somali adults, many of the activities are appropriate for use with other language/cultural groups. The Egal Shidad Mental Health Program and corresponding materials for use in adult English instruction were produced in year one of the project.
