The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) is a community-based organization that strives for equal worker rights. Their members are largely Latino, Haitian, and Mayan Indian immigrants working in low-wage jobs throughout the state of Florida. Recent organizing victories have included a successful campaign to improve the wages and working conditions for McDonald's tomato farmworkers.

Healthy Roads Media, with funding provided by Fargo Cass Public Health through the Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and funding from the Specialized Information Services Division of the National Library of Medicine, has developed a 20 topic set of emergency preparedness materials in 4 languages (English, Spanish, Somali and Bosnian) and 5 formats (handouts, audio, multimedia, web-video and iPod video). All materials are free and can be downloaded and shared widely.
